How do employees access the documents?
You send them a link. When they click it, they enter their work email and receive a magic link (no password needed). Once authenticated, they can view the document. Every page view is logged to their email address.
Can we restrict access to only our employees?
Yes. Set a domain restriction like @yourcompany.com. Only email addresses at that domain can access the document. Anyone else sees an access denied message.
What data is logged?
For each viewer: email address, date/time of access, pages viewed, time spent per page, completion status, location (IP-based), and device type. All exportable as CSV, PDF, or JSON.
Is this compliant with privacy regulations?
We process data according to GDPR and CCPA guidelines. Since you're tracking your own employees accessing internal company documents, standard internal data handling policies apply. We recommend adding a note that the document is tracked.
Can we see who hasn't read the document?
If you enable domain restriction, you'll see who has accessed it. For "who hasn't," you'd compare that list against your employee roster. We show completion rates so you know what percentage of viewers finished.
How long is data retained?
Audit logs are retained for the life of your account. You can export them anytime. For compliance purposes, we recommend exporting and archiving logs for critical documents.
